How to make whole wheat khakhra
Whole wheat khakhra, a famous Gujarati dry snack is made from whole wheat flour, salt, oil and water. The dough is rolled out and cooked on a tava with pressure applied till crisp.
A healthy quick snack idea, we like whole wheat khakhra as it is made out of 100% whole wheat flour. Whole wheat flour is excellent for diabetics as they will not shoot up your blood sugar levels as they are a low GI food. Whole wheat flour is rich in Phosphorus which is a major mineral which works closely with calcium to build our bones.

Khakhra Chivda, made with wheat flour khakhras are quite as satiating as rotis but can be quite thrilling for kids to munch on. Here crushed khakhras are pepped up with roasted chana dal, peanuts, cashewnuts, sev and other interesting ingredients, which will make the taste buds – and of course, your kids – to jump with joy. You can make a large batch of this Khakhra Chivda and store it in an air-tight container for 5-6 days.

This simple Khakhra Chivda snack can be made in a jiffy with whole wheat khakhra, and is a smart way to outwit sudden hunger pangs without reaching out for junk food!
Tossed together with peanuts, daria and other crunchy stuff, this Healthy Khakhra Chivda has a very exciting mouth-feel. A couple of masalas add to the flavour making it an absolutely awesome treat.
We have avoided using sugar, which is usually added to chivdas, and we also suggest you use plain oil-free khakhra to make this snack to ensure that it is totally healthy. You can carry this chivda in an airtight container to munch on whenever you are hungry.

Whole wheat khakhras are undisputedly nutritious! Here, we transform this healthful snack into an irresistibly tasty one, by crushing and combining them with flavourful and crunchy veggies, lime juice and coriander. Far too easy to make but incredibly irresistible, the Khakhra Chaat is also chock-full of vitamin A and fibre. Keep all the ingredients ready, and mix just before serving. To make two cups of crushed khakhras for this recipe, you can use around eight khakhras of 7” each.
